It may largely depend on the country where you sent. England, Germany, France, Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries have very efficient postal services. Standard First Class Mail can reach destinations in the U.S. in just one week. But most of southern and eastern Europe from the less reliable postal service. I have letters from relatives in Germany in five days, but a first class letter from a friend in Hungary, it took almost two and a half weeks.

You need a tradeof between speed and cost.

If you use FedEx or something i't very expensive, but literally to get 1 or 2 days of CT.
You can "fast" option for the Post, which are usually more expensive and probably less than a week.
Standard mail takes about 1 week to 10 days.

Most European post office has a Web site in English language can check to see prices.

I BookMooch user com, send you a notification books in the world. The last time I sent a book about France from the United States less than one euro, and it took less than a week, but I paid the minimum rate (which was allegedly slow ").
